American Plumbing & Electrical Supply was purchased from the previous owner in February, 1966. Jack Katz and Max Gross started the company in 1966. Jack passed away in 1992. Max continues to run the business with his three sons; Howard, Bruce, and Andrew. We started with a 15' x 40' one-story building down the street. In 1968 we moved to our present address with a 50 x 75 two-story building. In 1974 we built a four-story building on the same property. Several years later we bought the property next door and built a 100' x 150' four-story building to make a total of 77,000 square feet. as well as, storage and parking lot. Originally we had 5 employees; we now total 45. Originally we carried hardware, electrical and plumbing supplies. Additionally we now carry: lumber, building supplies, paint, heavy equipment, generators, etc. We also manufacture fluorescent lighting fixtures.
